Buddhist Garden Design Principles

As part of our continuing Buddha's Face Buddhism 101 project we have created a whole section entitled Designing a Buddhist or Oriental Garden - the fundamentals of Buddhist garden design. In it we discuss the following topics ;

1. Buddhist garden design concepts - Buddhist Peace Gardens.
2. How to make a Buddhist garden which is an inspiring place to sit and wander.
3. Using Buddhist art and texts along the garden path.
4. Using statues of the Buddha in your garden.
5. Buddhist gardens in which you wish for good things.
6. Buddhist garden which feeds creation.
7. The social garden - one that gives your garden to the world.

I loved putting this together and had a revived inspiration to get out into my garden and start putting these principles into action.

You can dig for him there." George Bernard Shaw
