Oseam - South Korean Cartoon - Buddhism and Catholicism

Oseam is a 1995 South Korean animated film directed by Park Chul-soo. The movie tells the story of two orphans and is based on a Korean folk legend in which a young boy sacrifices himself to save his blind sister's sight. The general theme is concerned with the reconciliation between Buddhism and Catholicism. The clip below is a K-pop video compilation from the movie accompanied by a sad song. I don't expect Disney will remake this anytime soon !

“The foundation of the Buddha's teachings lies in compassion, and the reason for practicing the teachings is to wipe out the persistence of ego, the number-one enemy of compassion.” Dalai Lama
