The Very Very Best from the Buddha’s Face Blog

Recently at the Buddha’s Face blog we highlighted our very own top 10 blogs based on page views by you the readers and I promised to produce a similar list of my own top 10 favourites.

Well here they are as part of our continuing mission to bring the most inspiring, crazy weirdest , longest , biggest and tallest stories from the wonderful world of Buddhism.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did finding and writing them.

We need to use our precious human lives that come with a wonderful intelligence and mind for the benefit of all. We can do this by understanding that we are the architects of own suffering and conversely of our own true happiness through a personal liberation and through example to others.

The Top 10 List

The Lessons I have learnt from the Buddha

The Dalai Lama Latte – Buddhist inspired coffee from Taiwan

Compilation index of the very best 3D Buddha Stereogram Optical Illusions

Lisa Simpson and Buddhism – She of Little Faith

You Cannot Steal the Moon – Zen Koan

Jesus and the Buddha – Complete list of blog entries

Self Immolation – The Buddhist monk who set himself on fire (Warning Graphic Content)

Is this the most beautiful Buddha statue in the world?

Buddha Bill Hicks – It’s only a ride

The Heart Sutra – from the Little Buddha movie

What I have found in compiling this list is it is very difficult to lump together such vastly different topics - particularly so in the moving and very shocking Vietnamese monk who committed suicide to protest at the oppression of Buddhist in Vietnam with something as trivial as a decoration on a cup of coffee.

They have all moved me in their own ways – the monk by his complete lack of fear and dedication to the pursuit of freedom through example and non-violence to others …. and the Dalai Lama latte – well the lady who makes it lives in the moment and strives to be the very best she can be and shares it with others.

What they all have in their essence is the ultimate reality of our lives is just that the ultimate reality - we are but a brief flowering of life – awake for an instant in eternity before joining the infinite – this is Nirvana.

May your every day be fruitful, interesting and a better day than your last.

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful. Buddha
