The Nonsense of Buddhism - a critic speaks out + cat and the Buddha !

A cat is no respecter of faith and tradition !

An interesting talk on one of the more challenging concepts to Buddhists - what happens to us after we die. He focuses on the concept of reincarnation as it is espoused by one particular Abbott in Australia Peter Bett who has been excommunicated for his ordination of nuns by his parent temple in Thailand.

I would tend to side with the speaker and that our eventual annihilation in death of our body and self re-unites us with the whole of creation - however by concentrating on one particular adherent from Thervadan Buddhism his criticism is quite narrow. He is of course entitled to his views and I am very happy to highlight them here and for karmic balance an intelligent counter response.

If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism. Albert Einstein

  1. The rebuttal seems to be a confirmation that Buddhism is nonsense.
A leader who was supposed to have escaped the cycle of birth and death was reported to have died.
This phenomena is applicable to all humans.

  2. Not only that. He suffered pain just before he died due to a meal he was given.
(And his followers wanted to punish the man given him that meal.)
How good of karma is that? Being in pain at the end of your life.
It doesn't make any sense to me, if you follow his way of thinking that everything is karma.
He must not be the man he claimed he was then.
